I like to listen to Hugh Hewitt on the radio while I am driving home from work. And I like to listen to Hugh Hewitt the most when I he has his regular guest James Lileks on. He has a rare talent of being able to come up with an interesting and amusing, yet relevant answer to any question that he is asked.

Finally I got onto the information highway to check out his blog. When I googled his name I got his blog at http://lileks.com/bleat/. It is eclectic, quite random and pretty much what I expected after listening to him on Hugh Hewitt. Entertaining. But when I went back a couple of days later, now knowing how to spell “Lileks”, I just typed http://www.lileks.com into Firefox and found a vast collection of random useless and fascinating web pages. He has scanned images of his matchbook collection, postcard collection, reviews of B&W movies that you’ve never heard of and so on and so on. It is a little like going into grandpa’s attic and rummaging around.

I think I’ve only scratched the surface. You should definitely check it out. BTW don’t miss Lilek’s collection of Garage Band produced techno dance music with old Star Trek sound bite oversampling.
